This is likely a similar scam to the one being used on people listing cars
for sale on internet sites. I had a car listed for a while and got 3 of
these e-mails like yours, all from either a UK address or an African
country. The Better Business Bureau tells me that if a person " takes them
up " on their generous offer, the check sent in payment turns out to be no
good and you' ve been " had ".        CNN or one of the news networks had
something on this not long ago and interviewed a couple that had lost a car
that way.

More than ever, even the seller had better be aware these days.
