Your dummy load will work fine as long as you DO NOT try to tune up with key down in CW position.
Use a string of dits at about 60 wpm to tune .. that's 50% duty cycle and your dummy load should do quite well .. [assuming legal power]

Gentlemen,

My paint can oil-filled dummy load does not provide
the time duration necessary to achieve perfect tuning
as it gets very hot and pops off the vent cap in addition
to changing its internal resistance.

Who makes a 3KW or better dummy load that's
affordable?

There are BC quality units available and they are
between 1 and 2 thousand dollars.

I would consider HB'ng a dummy load in a 5 gallon
metal bucket.

Your opinions and advice are always welcome.
