Chuck --- If you want quality, /Matsushita/Panasonic 105ºC 450v electrolytics have it. Digi-key carries them. Unfortunately, they are not cheap. also I can find smaller, 450uf 450v ones I used in my Home brew amp, what will be the outcome of replacing the origional caps with HIGHER capacitance values ?? going from 8-200uf to 8-450uf's? More C will provide little noticeable improvement. However, more C means more stored energy to absorb during a glitch, so the glitch-R should have a higher J capacity with higher C. For 450uF caps in a Drake, I would go with 2, 10Ω, 10W glass-coated resistors in series, spaced a quarter inch above the chassis.. cheers of course i know that its a higher total capacitance, but what can occur if IRichard L.
