Well the ALS-500M is now working again with a new set of transistors. The
output power seems a little on the low side, about 360 watts but maybe the
devices are slightly lower gain, hard to know. The original fault was
caused, so I'm told, when somebody switched bands on the amp output filter
whilst it was producing power, ouch! The ALS-500 is a very basic box but
seems to work okay if you treat it with some care.
