A friend on mine built up an inverter using 2N3055's at 60 Hz. This way, 
standard 12-0-12 (24 V, C.T.) transformers can be used. I figured I'd 
post a link to the schematic for those who are interested. Actually, I'd 
rather use 2N3772's in this as he's stretching the current limits on a
