The safest approach is to estimate the current handling capacity and
measure the PIV with a hi-pot breakdown tester. Typically, Semtech
diode stacks with a heatsink flange are rated at 2.5A or more. The FWD
diode stack / heatsink mounted on top of the Hipersil® HV-xfmr in: http://www.somis.org/pb_ps.gif is a Semtech 2.5A, 2 x 15kV unit.
