That's a long way from the most overpriced auction I have ever seen.

Once someone wanted $750,000 for an old supercomputer that could take 
over 100 CPUs. The problem was there was few if any CPUs, parts were 
missing, and even if you got it working a couple of Pentiums would have 
eaten alive.

Sometimes when you point out to a seller his price is well OTT they will 
accept a reasonable offer. I recently bought a HP 5370B time interval 
counter that way. The seller wanted $850, I offered him $350 and we 
struck a deal. The fact it cost over $20,000 when new (only 10 years 
ago) is largely irrelevant.
