Hello Morrie:
The first thing to try is to lengthen the coax between the amp and the
transceiver.
I would recommend that the cable be at least 20 feet in length, RG 8 type
coax. Then, go ahead and retune the input coils and see if the SWR can be
greatly improved.
This amp was designed to be driven by tube exciters, and this change may
well help with transistor output exciters.
