Modern amps that have 240v operation fed with (hot-hot-bond) setup use the
centertap of the dual primary as the "nuetral point" NOT the home nuetral
from
the electrical system. This eliminates the "lost nuetral" problem with the
120v from the different phases senario.

And, it also allows the equipment to work in foreign countries with two wire
240v -0 or three wire 240v -0 -0 service.
