I am having some problems with my AL-80b. Over the past couple of weeks the
power out has dropped from a typical 800-900w on all bands to 500w.
Symptoms
include the input SWR going from 1.5 to 3.0+ (depending on band).
On 14.025 the typical readings are:
HV: idle 2975
load 2800
Grid: 110
Plate: 300
100w in and 500w out
Just before this problem started I did have a bang come out of the amp,
which surprised me some
I suspect the tube is failing, any other ideas..........Bob, KI6IV
