Look at the power transformer thread. Based on 1935
technology we might still consider a Faraday shield an
effective noise suppression system.
Things are a much different today then they were back when
we used open breadboard construction, had tubes with five
inch long skinny leads and window screen for grids, and
couldn't buy low inductance ceramic disc caps, ferrite
cores, SO239's, and shielded feedlines.
