The tubes used were PL509 or PL519; the article interchanges both numbers,
so go take your choice. The switching supply delivers 1200V and is called "
an off-line, full-bridge, phase-controlled, quasi- resonant converter
operating at 100KHz.
The 3rd order distortion products are shown on the scope at -35db @ 2KW PEP.
The whole thing weighs in at 8kg.
Constructionwise, it is a very neat little package.
