That would do it, and don't overlook a bad UHF connector (SO-239) as I've seen 
those corroded and cause a problem. After a certain power, they arced from the 
internal female center connector to the male pin. That amps of age for either 
of these to cause it. Generally if it's a disc cap breaking down, they'll tend 
to get hot. You may try transmitting while you have the case off and wait until 
it does this, then try cooling the caps with freeze spray to see if it cures 
the problem. Another thing to check is the contacts on the tube sockets that 
they are clean and tight. Last, check the coax jumper between the transceiver 
and the amp.
