Mike,
I´m getting 1 Kw PEP (meassured with a Drake MN2700 wattmeter) on my L7
(2.600 Volts) driving it with just 80 watts...is this what you call
difficult to drive?...73s!

Yes, that's about what mine does give or take meter calibration,
Fernando. But how much drive does it take to get 1500 watts output
from your L-7 (into a wattmeter with decent accuracy like a Bird 43)?
The AL-82 will run 1500 watts output without breaking a sweat, whereas
you would have to drive the L-7 very hard (~150 watts) to get 1500
watts output. Not a huge difference (a 1 dB or so).
