Dear Dan,

The Dremel line of accessories includes a tiny diamond tipped burr tool that
will
be excellent for removing material in riveted tube socket assemblies.

The operator needs to use extreme caution when grinding metal around
ceramic,
and also take precautions about the metallic debris generated because that
stuff
should not be left around the amp plenum or HV components.

This job can be done with the socket still in the amp, but I think that if
one
connection on the socket has deteriorated, another may follow.

It might be worthwhile to replace the entire assembly.....

I suggest trying a Dremel type tool.
