Hi,
Some years ago i aquired the above with slight mods. It was used for 2m SSB
and was working when i got it. I powered the beasty up over the weekend
slowly increasing the power (AC) with a variack. Before i even got to full
power (AC and no RF) the amp would go into what i assume Tx mode and pin the
meter to th right.
Some observations:
Amp is clean with no dust inside but i can see the rectifier board - well
made - was replaced with a homebrew variety
Can see no carbon track to cause or where any flashover might take place
The rectifier tubes look fine but i do not have a valve tester to test the
two 4cx250B - visual inspection shows they look new
Before i trash this piece of history where do i start troubleshooting and
where can i obtain a manual?
