This is where the MBAs with the sharp red pencils go to work.
Scratching out product lines that bring the least profit, have the
subassemblies and circuit boards made in China and do the final assembly
perhaps here in the states, and then put a logo in it with stars and
stripes declaring it to be made in the USA.
I expect that Amateur Radio is the lowest priority. I don't ever recall
Motorola making any specifically amateur gear perhaps military gear that we
could obtain thru surplus sources and some commercial VHF and UHF gear that
were purchased used and put on ham bands but that is about it. In both
cases the gear was too costly for hams to purchase new.
