[Amps] HV transformer issue

    Thanks again for all the advice gents- problem solved. As a FWIW, I 
tried powering the transformer (no load, caps) with the bolts removed, and 
of course no heating of the core at all.  Next, as an experiment of sorts 
tried brass allthread in place of steel (I know, more conductive ;-) and of 
course they heated quickly with AC applied.  Finally, used teflon tube, 
shoulder washers, a few bits of teflon sheet for extra insulation and the 
same brass bolts.  Viola, no more eddy currents.  Bolts cold, and less 60hz 
hum too.  I only hope the core calculations used to wind this thing were 
more carefully done than the assembly.
   A final question- anyone know where I can purchase Synthite AC-41 or 43?
