It might be interesting to note that Drake used what appears to be the inner
conductor and insulation from RG-8/U on both their L-4 and L-7 power supplies.
The supplies appear to be the same except for the model lettering, and are
interchangable.
I have never heard of a problem with this except for the occasional
accidental crushing of the Millen HV connector. These can still be had, but
like sweep
tubes, they are getting expensive.
