Was looking at the chimney for an 8877 and how the tube sits in it
and couldn't help but notice the air gap between the outside the tube
& the glass chimney. Seems like a bit of that orange rubber that so
many other tubes are wrapped with might make a fine gasket and drive
the air through the fins only. Maybe a thin ring of the stuff like an
"o ring" of that orange rubber would leave the top of the varigated
outer rim more free to dissipate heat?
It just seems less effective with air bypassing the fins.
