Hi
I used to work at Drake when the L4 B was in Production. I wasn't there
for the TR7, etc
but if its the same paint that they used on the TR7, it was a special paint
that was used for solar collectors, a flat black with very tiny wrinkles. It
was also used on the Cincinnati Microwave passport radar detector. ( Same
engineers)
Drake used to make their own sheet metal, but the painting was outsourced to
Hartzel Mfg in Dayton. They are still in business, do a google search.
Maybe they could help you, but if I remember it was a either a 2 component
paint or powder coat.
