What I do is have a temp gauge mounted at the exhaust vent and I keep tabs on 
the air leaving.  Granted, I don't use the amp for RTTY (never needed too) I am 
a net controller for a rather popular net.

I typically run temps of 100 F idling and upto 200 degrees talking.

Ameritron told me that the seals are good to 350 if memory serves, but don't 
quote me.
