The "1000" refers to the 4CX1000A tube and the "1500" refers to the
4CX1,500B. Do not mix up the 4CX1,500A with this bunch. It is a very
different tube, with a very different base, and requires a special, very
different, socket.

Either the 4CX1,000A or the 4CX1,500B will work fine in the 30S-1. I
suggest the 1500B because of its extra grid dissipation, and, usually, it is
much less expensive to buy. The extra plate dissipation is really meaningless
because the design of the amp makes it virtually impossible, with normally
available driving power, to produce enough power to be concerned about plate
dissipation. Think about it.
