Its both Don and usually shows up on the highest band first.
Grid current that drifts down at key down is another sign the tube is 
nearing its end. Not to be confused with overheating fixed padders usually 
used on 160/80M that drift and require retuning.

Possibly showing my inexperience here, but is it the grid or plate current 
that drops off with age/use.

I was thinking that as long as you can get good power out, isn't less grid 
current always better than more????
