Why go for PTFE? Silicone sheet (Which Alpha and others have been using
for years) is far cheaper and easier to work with. Besides the silicone
sheet does not break down into hazardous materials with an arc, or high
temperatures while Teflon certainly does.
The RED, high temp silicone sheet used as baffle material in aircraft
engine compartments is easy to work with and can be glued into a
cylinder with the proper glue (or silastic RTV (TM) if held in place
while curing). It's also easily obtainable. IF you can find it there is
even a RED, high temp, Silastic RTV(TM) available to glue the things
together.
