I have mixed opinions on that amp Val.

Too much glass in a small space with poor air flow

Can get squirrely on 10/15M as it gets a bit out of neutralization.

The cover seriously detunes it; many have had an aluminum cover made.

It will do an easy 1500W with 100W drive and its pretty happy there. Its
when you run 150-200W drive that it acts up.

$700 was still a bargain, that power pack alone can bring half that. I bet
it could bring $2K on Fleabay now.

Howdy Carl:

Since you seem to be a mover and shaker in the amp repair world and a
quasi-Amp Supply affectionado, I would like your opion on the
LK-550...........da' one with 3 X 3-500's and floor power supply with the
Dahl plate XFMR.

I had a chance to pickup one for $700 about two years ago and have kicked
myself for passing it up...........The only downside that I was aware of was
that it took >100 watts to drive it QRO........Go ahead Carl, make me feel
even worse for passing it up!......ha ha

The LK-500ZC was the last model and the best. I bought mine new in 86 and
still use it with the only problem being the (optional) vacuum relay and
that includes many years of intense contesting and DXing using VOX CW and
SSB.

I probably should change the filter caps as simple PM.
