Yes, Felipe is right, and also Jorge. Very difficult to import heavy items.
In fact it is hard to find a good transformer even in a broken amp...Because
usually if the tube is broken, that can be imported, so there are a lot of
broken amplifiers with bad transformers.
The best possibility is something like a MLA2500 that is VERY EXPENSIVE to
replace the tubes. We could use the transformer and case. Right now I know
of several broken amp in South America. But the broken part is the
transformer. So that's not a help.
I know of some broken MLA2500 in Mexico and USA, but too expensive for
shipping.
I agree with Jorge that we should attempt to find an amplifier in country,
especially if it only needs re-tubed.
At this point you have some folks looking, so lets see what turns up.

This is not a CX privilege. Here in Brazil we have the same problem.
You cant just browse a website and ask for something you need. If items are
heavy and expensive, its a budget nightmare to bring it in. High shipping
costs,
and high taxes (sometimes up to 100% the product value, depending on
shipping
method).
So, the way is to wander around junkyards and collect everything that seems
like
would be useful for a QRO project. You end up with a love of junk in the
attic
(wives love it) and there are always some parts missing...
