  on eBay, look for "yanjiewang7678", you'll find FT1A HF QRP amp for 
$289, puts out 50 watts withe 12 volt input or 100 with 224 volts.

I came across this group selling ICOM R71E for $185 plus s/h.  It 
arrived today, working.
What amuses me is that Chinese Army used these by the hundreds and now 
they are surplus in good shape.
