Sam:
I have one of these myself, and have learned that although they are not real
plentiful, there are quite a few of them out there.
As the other fellow says, the standard Export version of the 2K came with the
ECA 1171 which provides ~2700-2900 volts for CW and 3700-3900 volts for SSB.
The CW setting for the 1214 xformer is 3500-3700 volts and SSB is 4200-4400
volts.
I have found that the 4400 volt position really increases plate input for not a
whole lot more output causing me to wonder if the plate impedance at that
voltage is out of tuning range.
I think also that in some cases where the oem 1171 went belly up, they replaced
it with the 1214 as price was about the same, and having the extra Ep is a nice
option.
To do it right, one would also need to upgrade the Ep meter to the 0-10kv
version as well as add the 5th 100 watt 20k bleeder into the string.
As long as you don't need 160 and have the need to haul it on dxpeditions, I
think you will like it.
