That's under rated ... with eight VRF-2366 the amplifiers should be
capable of 2 KW output. The pictures of the two amplifier modules
look like updated versions of the Helge Granberg "EB104" design with
the VRF-2366 instead of MRF/VRF-150.
EB104 ran 600 W output with four 150W FETs ... the revised version
with VRF-2366 (4 x 300W) should be capable if an easy 1000W output.
The VRF-2366 has 3 dB more gain than the MRF/VRF-150 which would
allow both additional swamping (for stability) and the additional
for the same drive level as the Quadra (VL-1000 - 8 x MRF-150 in
four 300 W "modules").
The real issue of the VL-2000 will be the limited range of the
tuner (the Quadra tuner is relatively limited as well).
