The 4CX1000/8166 is a fabulous tube ... I have about ten of them here
that I acquired 10+ years ago from a broadcast station that closed
down... I paid GBP £250 for the lot which were mostly pulls but a couple
of new ones.
As far as the value goes... something is only worth what somebody will
pay for it... in the case of these tubes it has to be somewhere between
25% and 100% of the "new" price ... have a look at RF Parts, Surplus
Sales and Tom Tubes to get an idea of what you would pay there and then
have a look at Ebay item number 230618567050.
Mine are all in better condition (look better) but are nickel plated and
have date codes around 8722 (Week 22, 1987).
