The ones I convert to full bore 3CPX versions get ceramic or Teflon chimneys. 
The late 800's had a nice EBM-Pabst fan that I use with earlier ones. Also a 
temp sensor to change speeds. Some have been in contesting for over 20 years 
with no problems and no heat blackened tubes either.

  A well know contester uses an LK-800 and it's been in here for repairs, the 
chimneys ARE melted to the tubes!  But the cooling on that amp is a joke.  
Maybe not for 1500 watts but when pushed to the limit...NOPE!
