Hey! No war, just some interesting discussion about power supply filters.  
Like a lot of technical issues, there are many trade offs and design  
considerations.
 
Sometimes the methodology doesn't really matter as all solutions work. Some 
 cost more, others are large in size and some are not as reliable as one 
would  want.
 
We never even got into electronic ripple reduction that trades low stored  
energy for lower power efficiency.
