I think a reduction in the number of tubes sold is inevitable, as the
high power / high frequency performance of semiconductors has
improved. I suspect the fact there are Chinese copies of popular Eimac
tubes has not helped either. But at the power levels you are
designing, I don't believe there is competition from semiconductors.

Perhaps rather than talk to a sales person, you employ Reid as a
consultant when you need help.
