I'm interested in knowing the general answer for any of the tubes. In
specific I have a pair of 3PCX800A7 I bought when I had my Ten-Tec
Titan and they were full output tubes. With the thought I may get an
amp that uses them, I've kept them on a shelf but sold the amp. I
also have a spare 3CPX1500A7 for the AL-1500 and that's at least a
tube I can put in a rig.
I have an Astron variable volt and amp PS which can be used to hook
up the 3CPX800's to let them warm up for a period, if that would be
of help. If not, I don't want to bother.

It depends upon the tube Gary, some are known to degrade (outgas) and
others
arent. A few have poor air seals and turn to paperweights.
If you have the means to regetter before applying full HV or RF then do
it.
Most of the indirectly heated types just require a day or so of filament
voltage only.
Otherwise pull a Dirty Harry.
