I use an oil filter wrench when I want to remove the 3CX1000A7 in the 2M amp
to blow the fins out or swap in one of the spares to keep them happy.

Although you've solved the problem I though I'd throw this out in case
some one else might have this problem.
Try one of the thin rubber disks used to get a better grip when opening
jars with the screw on tops.

The tube anode cooler is only about ¼” above the chimney. I cannot get
enough grip to rotate the tube. Removing the chimney is almost out of the
question – lots of other stuff is in the way.
I’m thinking about making a tool that I clamp on the center anode post to
give me some leverage.
Any reason to not apply rotational force to the post??
THANKS – and other ideas welcome! 73, Bill N2BC
