Ive used Scotch 27 HV tape for decades on toroids and Teflon insulated wire in amps and mounted inside weather resistant boxes when experimenting with something outside.

If HV is an issue it doesnt hurt to use 2-3 layers of tape and then brush on Q dope.

You can also use a polyimide tape for wrapping cores or wires. It comes with a heat tolerant adhesive
