Also,  it is my understanding Ameritron has wound the coil with an odd number 
wire size and if you wind it with an even number wire size with those same 
quantity of turns you will have resonant points where you don't want them. So 
make sure you use the same wire size as Ameritron uses and not something close 
if you reLLY HAVE TO WIND YOUR OWN.

Why? A replacement is only $20 and an improvement over early AL-1200's. It 
took Ameritron 3 tries to get it right.
