Subject: Re: [Amps] AL-1200 T/R problem
Actually back in the early 60's is was more a fresh $10 or $20 bill as we
couldn't afford to carry a $50 or $100 bill. Fern
## telcos used this stuff called Bond paper back in the electro mechanical
days..
came in 3 ft long x half inch wide strips.
## If you really want to fix the AL-1200 and AL-1500 TR relay problem,
replace with vac relays.. like the gigavac GH1. Then you will NEVER have
int RX ever again. Put em on both the input and output..then you can stuff 2
kw through em
on bypass mode. That allows you to then string several amps nose to tail..all
on different bands...
or 1 on 80m cw..another on 80m ssb etc. A simple rotary switch ensures only 1
amp can be keyed
at any one time. IE: key line from xcvr to rotary switch...then 6 outputs
to 6 amps.
## I would not mess with mech TR relays these days.
