Ive shipped literally hundreds of SB-200's around the world with tubes in the sockets. Bubble wrap or crushed newspaper works well but you have to get it on the sides, in between, under, over, and in front of them. Use enough so that the cover compresses the material a bit to add a bit extra pressure.

Do you think it's wise to ship a SB200 with the tubes installed? It will be packed in a heavy duty computer box with high density foam for packing.
