For both my T2X and CD45 rotators, I replaced the terminal strip with an
aluminium plate fitted with a proper IP66 rated cable gland and a 2 foot tail
of cable. That joins the main run of cable, the joint being a coupler for 50mm
plastic waste pipe with screw on ends, blanking plugs fitted with IP66 cable
glands and joining terminal block inside - also a bag of silica gel. Not liking
cable hanging supporting its own weight, I always use a messenger rope and tape
all the cables (coax and rotator) to that - telescoping towers can't have
cables taped to them.
What Hy Gain were thinking off when they used an unprotected terminal strip I
don't know - or were they just thinking of locations like the California desert?

They have a bulkhead plate that mounts in the hole where that termonal
strip resides (2 screws). There is a hole with a grommet for the cable.
The ends of the cable solder to the places where the wires from the
terminal strip went.

There's a parts pack (870598) that "might" be the whole works, but I'd
call Hy-gain and ask them specifically.
You can put a half knot in the cable inside the rotator that rests on
the plate. I'd not hang a 100 feet of cable on it, but it's plenty good
enough to hold a cable that is taped to a tower leg.
This is just the rotator end, there is a matching female cable end.(part
# 870597) When I bought my conversions they came as a set.
They are not waterproof, but can easily be made so.
If you have to rebuild any of the Ham series, I think these are well
worth the extra work to make the conversion.
