Some people live lucky or havent exercised it hard enough on all bands into
imperfect antennas.

I've had several of these PT-2500A hf amps without ever having any
issues......never any arcing, etc.
I still have a PT-3000A (only five of those produced) which was similar (same
cabinet) except that it sported the 8877 ceramic tube and also had factory QSK
with vacuum relays. The only issue that I had with it was a failed ceramic
padder capacitor that affected the lower bands (40 and 80 is my recollection).
