Thanks everyone,  it doesn't look like a MOT anymore.

I found a bobbin that fit perfectly for $2.50, it made things a lot easier.

It just might be possible to use MOTs!  I haven't applied power yet, but  187 
turns on the primary and 1453 turns on the secondary.
