Hello Gary.
I picked up a used Amp Supply Co. LA-1000A amp recently and had the same
problem. It turns out the relay was clicking but the contacts that permitted
the drive to go through we're not making contact. One 'pin ' was bent a little
too far out from the other.
I fixed it but it happened again after short use so I replaced the relay and
it's worked perfectly ever since. You might want to check continuity between
all pairs of contacts when the relay clicks. Bob NZ5A
