Since the dog test was inconclusive, the next step is what, the cat scan?  ;-)

Thanks all for your memorable suggestions.
With SpectrumLab and a mic having good high frequency response nothing
ultrasonic was detected emanating from the TL922.  Current theory is that
the loud 'clack' of the TR relay is what scares the dog.  The dog is
skittish enough she runs out when she sees me reaching for the mic so it's
become hard to tell what's going on.  Investigation continues.  If the dog
cooperates there could still be a video.
