Steve,

Whilst the GU-84B has become harder to source and relatively expensive
nowadays, it is in my opinion one of the finest linear SSB AB1 tetrodes in
the 2500 Watt plate dissipation class ever made. A truly rugged workhorse
tube with excellent performance and longevity. They're definitely worth the
trouble to track down amongst the various Russian/Ukraine stockpiles still
in existence.

The other excellent tube that's actually still in current day production as
opposed to surplus NOS status is the Chinese FU-728F that's conservatively
rated at 1200 Watts plate dissipation. A pair of these tubes in parallel
will not disappoint. It's kind of like an Eimac 4CX1500B on steroids but
with improved Po and IMD performance.

Okies,

Would gurus like to put a shout out for their favorite 2-3kw plate
dissipation tetrode?

It seems gu-84 is like rocking horse shit.

Cheers
