All,
I remember that amp in his trunk. We had a joint meeting of the So Cal and
San Diego DX Clubs at some place in Oceanside, CA circa 1971/72. Don wanted
to see if we could QSO up the coast on 20 meters after the meeting. I think
it had 4Cx250's or something like that. No LDMOS in those days. 
I was W6QQW then now N7RT/4.

I have QST on disk, all the way back, but the early versions leave a lot to
be desired.
I'll try to remember to search QST of the 60s.  Too bad there isn't a master
index.
