It is for modifying the early amplifiers. All of the later versions all had the 
dual coax runs between the tuned input and the tube. 

Goes back to the discussion about efficiency and the best place to put the 
tuned input is at the base of the tube.

there's also one for the AL-82. It's at the bottom of the page at 
http://www.ameritron.com/support.php?productid=AL-1200. There are other, older 
manuals at the bottom of the page so I'm guessing that it's something to do 
with the earliest models.
