this would be the setup
Acom to K3
K3 is "wired" to desktop / writelog
Writelog / writelog remote
the Original RCU & there is RS232 port beside it's connection on back of
amp.
Key question is on/off from outside the router.
as example, I load Acom Director on my laptop.
Go to McDonald's free wifi, bring up Acom Director
I'd think something loads on the machine at the rig/amp
I've just downloaded Acom Director - so I'm at zero on that learning curve.

Robert,
Let me ask you, do you also use contest software such as N1MM+?
The Acom Director has the nicest looking interface (duplicate of the
original RCU face).
I have had it working standalone, however, at this time you can't interface
it with N1MM+ (although he claims a future version will have that).
There are two other solutions that work great...full control of Acom and
both interface as well with N1MM+ and other software.
TRX-Manager has a total control interface a lot like Acom Director, except
it is not fancy graphics. But you can monitor all functions and select them
from the TRX-Acom half of the program. You can download it and try it for
free.
It uses the same 3 wire null modem cable from the RS-232 port on the back
of the Acom 2000A.
Likewise N4PY's software totally supports Acom 2000 interface and N1MM as
well.
I'm assuming you have the original RCU, these are the best solutions for the
original RCU.

The ACOM 2000 has RS232 port on back
Control software program is available from M0YOM
Anyone have experience with this method?
can it do remote on/off - aka from other side of router via internet?
Thanks
