A J-pole is an end fed zepp - 1/2 wave ground independent radiator.
Free space gain 2.1 dBi. The bottom 1/4 wave is a parallel line
matching section.

OK, I know this is funny. Everyone needs a laugh once in a while.

Just wondering if anyone knows the gain(lack of) for a typical J-Pole?
Measured, modeled, or folklore?

And, what is the theory - no ground needed - does it function as a
collinear? What then?

Thanks, Jim KG0KP
